General Scope of Responsibility:
Direct and coordinate operations through supervision of production support staff to manufacture quality products in a safe and cost-effective manner. Function as acting Quality Manager for the facility.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Establish and maintain a safe workplace for all employees. Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive safety program that meets applicable safety regulations and corporate goals.

Manages the systems and procedures needed to effectively perform the Quality Department functions

Develops, maintains, improves, and assures the effective execution of documented procedures needed to effectively manage Quality Department activities; perform or delegate duties specifically assigned to the Plant Quality Manager

Oversee plant internal audits acting as the plant administrator for this function, yearly audit schedules, facilitate auditor training, review auditor competency. Represent the plant during 2nd and 3rd party quality system audits.

Assist in development of strategies to assure continuous quality/productivity/cost improvement in systems, procedures, processes and products; assist in institutionalizing the corporate Quality Philosophy throughout the plant.

Provides leadership role in resolving product quality problems.

Assures customers receive prompt, thorough, and complete responses to quality complaints, in accordance with applicable customer applications and internal procedures.

Assures effective corrective actions are identified and implemented in a timely fashion for external, internal and supplier failures. Ensure corrective actions are shared across all manufacturing plants and incorporated into lessons learned database.

Report on the quality performance of the plant in a systematic and regular fashion so management and non-management personnel are aware of performance and can mutually assess our improvement needs. Report to the Plant Manager and/or the Corporate Quality Director the needs of the plant’s quality effort
- Direct overall plant resources to meet or exceed corporate profitability expectations.

Provide recommendations on annual plant budget for review and operate within approved budgetary constraints.

Ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained.

Ensure that all manufacturing processes are cost effective.

Assists in supervising plant staff and, indirectly, production supervisors.

Provides skill development, professional development, and cross-training of department personnel.

Evaluates and rates performance of direct reports, assure their assigned duties are performed.

Establishes environment conducive to high performance, assist other plant personnel to understand and execute their specifically assigned duties.

Establish continuous improvement goals for cost reductions, systems, products, and processes.

Provide direction to the Human Resources effort to ensure fair and equal dealings with all employees.

Ensure that plant actions are in conformance with all Company policies.

Take required actions to maintain and safeguard Company assets.

Represent Cadillac Products Automotive Company to the community and to other local industries.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering and 5 or more year’s related experience; or, High school diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of business experience in an automotive operation.

5 or more years’ experience in manufacturing supervision.
-
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal. Similarly, good presentation and interpersonal skills.

General computer literacy including MS Office (Word and Excel) and ERP (Plex).

Training and understanding of customer systems (Ford, Nissan, GM, and STLA).

Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises. Environmental conditions include noisy environments with occasional varying temperatures.
