Looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Westchase Surgery Center! We are a multi specialty surgery center in Tampa including spine, ortho, pain management, plastics, podiatry, hand, general surgery, and ocular plastics.
The main role of the certified surgical tech is to establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Duties include:
- Ensure sterility of all supplies, instruments, and equipment in the sterile environment
- Assist the team in preparation for cases daily and for the following day
- Ability to accurately maintain counts of sharps, sponges, and instruments with circulator before, during, and after each case
- Transporting all instruments and surgical equipment to SPD. Assists in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets
- Assist the surgical team in room turnover and resets
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices using Standard Universal Precautions
- Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participate in emergency preparedness drills
- Communicates effectively and respectfully to visitors, physicians, staff, and all others in the work environment
- Safety and patient care at the forefront of all practices in compliance with the policies and procedures of the center
Job Type: Full-Time
Monday through Friday - 1 Saturday a month
