READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY
Most landscaping companies run the same playbook: pay $15 an hour, pack the route so tight you're sprinting all day, then lay everyone off in November and hope you come back in April. We built this crew to be the one we'd actually want to work on — above-market pay, routes with enough time to do the job right, and a schedule that doesn't die when the grass stops growing.
We're not a national franchise burning through bodies. The owner is still on the trucks. Your work gets seen — and so does your effort.
If landscaping is just something you survive until 5 o'clock, this isn't your job, and no hard feelings. If you're the one who re-cuts an edge because it wasn't straight, keep reading.
WHO WE ARE
We're a locally owned landscaping company based in Oakland County, built on two things: an owner who still runs job sites, and a steady, growing book of work — residential and commercial maintenance routes plus renovation and investment properties across Oakland County and Metro Detroit. That mix keeps the schedule full and the company growing, which is exactly why this seat is open.
Here's the honest pitch: curb appeal is literally our product. When the yard is the reason a client renews or a house sells, the person holding the trimmer isn't "labor" — you're the product. That's why we pay above market and hold an above-market standard.
WHAT YOUR DAY ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Maintenance routes:
- Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing on residential and commercial routes — done right, not just done fast
- Bed maintenance: mulch installs, weeding, shrub and hedge trimming
- Spring and fall cleanups, brush and overgrowth removal, haul-off
Installs and enhancements:
- Sod, seed, topsoil, and grading touch-ups
- Landscape installs: plantings, edging, stone and gravel work — hardscape experience is a plus, and we'll teach the rest
Renovation properties:
- Curb-appeal transformations on renovation and investment properties across Metro Detroit — before-and-afters that get photographed and used to sell houses
Winter:
- Snow removal and salting routes — so your paycheck doesn't hibernate
Always:
- Maintain the mowers, trimmers, blowers, and saws you run; keep the trailer organized and road-ready
COMPENSATION — THE ACTUAL MATH, UP FRONT
- $20–$25 per hour. The posted average for landscaping work in Michigan runs around $15–$16/hr. We start above market on purpose, because we expect above-market work.
- Full-time, year-round. At 40 hours a week, this band is roughly $41,600–$52,000 a year — before any overtime.
- Overtime available in peak season (spring through fall), when the work stacks up.
- All equipment provided. Show up with work boots and a work ethic.
- 90-day review with written raise criteria. You'll know exactly what earns the bump — no guessing, no favorites.
THE GROWTH PATH
Most companies can offer you "senior crew guy." Here, the ladder is real because the company is growing:
1. Crew Member — master the standard.
2. Crew Lead — your own truck, your own route, your own crew.
3. Foreman / Operations — the seats above you are being built as we grow, not waiting for someone to retire out of them.
We promote from within first. Ask about it in the interview — we'll tell you exactly what the next seat looks like and what it takes to earn it.
WHO CRUSHES THIS ROLE
- You take photos of your work because you're proud of it
- You show up early without being told — every day, both seasons
- You can run a zero-turn, string trimmer, and blower all day; chainsaw experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; towing a trailer is a plus
- You can lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work in July heat and January cold
- You fix what you find — a missed strip, a crooked edge, trash at the curb — without waiting for permission
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
- You need someone standing over you to stay working
- Your phone gets more attention than the property
- "That's not my job" is in your vocabulary
- You cut corners when nobody's watching — everything we touch gets photographed
No hard feelings either way. We'd rather you self-select out now than quit in July.
HOW WE OPERATE
- Own the outcome. Every yard has your name on it.
- Speed with standards. Fast and right — not fast or right.
- Pride in the product. If you wouldn't photograph it, it isn't finished.
- Straight talk. Problems get flagged early, not hidden.
