Job Description
Craven Farm is seeking a dependable, skilled, and self-motivated Farm Laborer – Agritourism & Craven Farm Operations to support and improve all aspects of the farm. This role focuses on hands-on farm work, crop care, and maintaining clean, safe, and functional grounds that support both farming activities and public events. Farm laborers play a key role in preparing the farm for seasonal attractions, ensuring fields and facilities are well maintained, and assisting with event setup and breakdown as needed.
You will play a key role in building and maintaining the physical property while also working alongside the team to keep the farm clean, functional, and guest-ready year-round.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Crop & Field Work:
Planting, cultivating, maintaining, and harvesting crops used for farm sales and agritourism displays. Tasks include weeding, watering, harvesting, and preparing fields to remain neat, healthy, and visually appealing.
Grounds & Property Maintenance:
Maintaining fields, pathways, fences, barns, and outdoor spaces to ensure the farm remains safe, organized, and guest-ready. Duties may include mowing, cleaning, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
Seasonal & Event Support:
Assisting with setup and breakdown of seasonal attractions such as pumpkin patches, hayrides, corn mazes, and harvest events. Supporting farm operations during high-traffic event days as needed.
Equipment & Tool Use:
Operating basic farm tools, hand equipment, carts, wagons, and machinery used for planting, harvesting, and daily farm tasks. Reporting equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
Load Handling & Transport:
Loading, unloading, and transporting crops, supplies, hay bales, equipment, and materials throughout the farm property.
Safety & Cleanliness:
Following farm safety guidelines to ensure safe working conditions for staff and visitors. Keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Who You Are
- A hands-on worker who enjoys both building and farm work
- Skilled in basic landscaping, repairs, and using tools
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Reliable, hardworking, and takes pride in doing quality work
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Bonus if you have:
- Experience with tractors, skid steers, or farm equipment
- Background in farming, landscaping, or construction
Schedule & Seasonal Flexibility
- Typically 30–50 hours per week, depending on season
- Flexible scheduling during peak farm seasons
- Extended time off available mid-December through mid-February

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
