Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth and welcoming start to their experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated effectively to the kitchen and bar staff
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, wine pairings, and daily specials to enhance guest satisfaction through upselling techniques such as OpenTable reservations and suggestive selling
- Serve food and drinks promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality while adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and foster positive guest relations
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests while maintaining cleanliness standards in dining areas
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems, process payments securely, and manage cash handling duties with integrity
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen support as needed during busy periods or special events such as nightclub nights or private parties
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace following sanitation guidelines; ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Collaborate with team members including hosts/hostesses, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to deliver seamless service experiences
- Support guest services initiatives by managing reservations via OpenTable or similar platforms and accommodating special requests with professionalism
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly in fine dining settings or nightlife venues such as nightclubs
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest relations tactfully
- Demonstrated ability in upselling techniques to increase sales while maintaining genuine guest interactions
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation enhances your ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and guests
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, check splitting, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling protocols
- Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable for managing guest bookings efficiently
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special event nights such as nightclub evenings or holiday parties
- Strong communication skills coupled with hospitality expertise to create memorable guest experiences from greeting through farewell
