The BCELC is seeking for immediate hire a lead teacher to plan, manage and conduct a comprehensive early education and care program for children ages 1-2 years-old. The Lead Teacher supervises assistant teachers, student interns and work study students. Core responsibilities include:
- Develop meaningful warm and responsive relationships with children and their families
- Development and implementation of responsive and meaningful curriculum
- Supervision of assistant teachers, student interns, volunteers and work study students
- Daily thoughtful interaction with children and their families
- Maintaining close contact with parents, and interacting with students, faculty and staff
- Maintaining a safe (NYCDOHMH regulated), aesthetically pleasing, culturally and developmentally responsive classroom environment
- Documenting children’s engagement and process of learning for reflective teacher practice
- Involvement in on-going professional development initiatives including staff meetings, NYCDOHMH required health and safety training and NAEYC accreditation initiatives, and maintaining current and relevant knowledge of early education and perspectives
- Assist in the planning and implementation of staff professional development initiatives and special events
Qualifications: Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Early Childhood Education, NYS Certification and experience teaching children 2 through 5 years old. Candidates must be warm, supportive of children and responsive to their needs, hard working, independent and flexible.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Experience:
