Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques during patient mobility tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist in updating personalized care plans
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care techniques
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently; certifications preferred but not required upon hire
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Compassionate attitude with patience for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or other behavioral needs
