Position: Landscape Herbicide Spray Technician
Objective: To safely and effectively apply herbicides to commercial and residential landscapes while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Landscape Herbicide Spray Technician is responsible for promoting healthy, weed-free landscapes through proper identification, treatment, and preventative maintenance practices while providing exceptional customer service.
Pay: $22-$28/hour

Job Description:
The Landscape Herbicide Spray Technician is responsible for inspecting landscape areas, identifying weeds and invasive vegetation, and applying herbicides using industry-approved methods and equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of herbicide products, application techniques, safety procedures, and environmental stewardship. The technician works independently and as part of a landscape maintenance team to ensure properties meet quality standards while maintaining accurate application records and following all licensing requirements.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
· Identify turf and landscape weeds, invasive plants, and other vegetation requiring treatment.
· Safely mix, measure, and apply herbicides according to product labels, company standards, and applicable regulations.
· Operate and maintain backpack sprayers, ride-on sprayers, UTV-mounted spray equipment, and other application equipment.
· Inspect properties before and after treatment to evaluate effectiveness and identify additional service needs.
· Monitor weather conditions to ensure safe and effective herbicide applications.
· Maintain accurate application records, chemical usage logs, and required regulatory documentation.
· Follow all OSHA, EPA, state pesticide regulations, and company safety policies.
· Properly store, transport, and dispose of herbicides and related materials.
· Perform routine calibration, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on spray equipment.
· Communicate professionally with customers regarding treatment schedules, expectations, and recommendations
· Report pest, disease, irrigation, or landscape issues observed during service visits.
· Assist with general landscape maintenance duties as needed.
· Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and work area.
· Participate in ongoing training related to pesticide safety, product knowledge, and industry best practices.
Job Qualifications
Experience & Education
· High school diploma or GED.
· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
· Current state pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
· Knowledge of herbicide application techniques and safe handling procedures.
· Ability to identify common landscape weeds and turfgrass species.
· One or more years of experience in landscape maintenance, turf management, lawn care, or herbicide application.
· Commercial pesticide applicator certification in applicable categories.
· Experience operating commercial spray equipment.
· Knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) principles.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
