Job Summary
The Landscape Maintenance Site Superintendent at Dex by Terra is a senior field operations role responsible for the day-to-day execution of landscape maintenance contracts across a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. This role owns what happens on the ground — crew performance, site quality, schedule adherence, and safe, efficient production. The Site Superintendent is the operational backbone of the maintenance division, serving as the primary leader for field crews and the key link between production and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily deployment of landscape maintenance crews across multiple active sites, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within scope, and to company quality standards
- Directly supervise foremen and crew members; provide on-site coaching, performance feedback, and training
- Conduct routine and unannounced site inspections; identify deficiencies and ensure corrective action is completed promptly
- Coordinate daily and weekly crew schedules and route assignments to maximize production efficiency
- Enforce all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements; lead toolbox talks and document incidents
- Work closely with Account Managers to understand client expectations and communicate field-side concerns back to management
- Track crew hours, site completion, and production metrics; report regularly to division leadership
- Oversee seasonal transitions (spring cleanup, summer maintenance, fall prep, winter/snow) and support crew readiness for each phase
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape maintenance operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman-level role overseeing multiple crews
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, horticulture, and commercial landscape equipment
- Proven ability to manage field teams, hold people accountable, and drive production outcomes
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history; ability to operate company vehicles and tow trailers
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent scheduling/reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with Connecteam or similar workforce management platforms
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred
- Pesticide applicator license or horticultural certifications a plus
Physical Requirements
Primarily outdoor, field-based work in all weather conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must have reliable transportation to our Hudson, MA office.
