Medical Assistant – Bloomfield, CT
Urgent Care Center of Connecticut is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. Medical Assistant Qualifications/Skills:
- Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in urgent care, primary care, or family practice
- Proficient in obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient histories
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Medication Prior Authorization
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and patient care procedures
- Skilled in phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic clinical procedures preferred
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Medical Assistant Job Requirements:
Medical Assistant know-how and competencies:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to perform clinical duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examination, administering injections (if permitted by state regulations), and collecting specimens
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urgent care environment
- Must be reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
