Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior Technician to join the Polaris Academy team, guiding students with neurodevelopmental and learning differences toward their brightest futures. In this role, you will be the day-to-day anchor for our students, implementing individualized treatment plans, assisting with daily living skills, and delivering evidence-based behavioral therapy to foster true independence and positive growth. Responsibilities
- Implement Tailored ABA Protocols: Execute individualized behavior intervention and care plans, ensuring consistency, care, and clinical effectiveness in every interaction.
- Foster Independence (ADLs): Patiently guide and assist students with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)—including grooming, dressing, and hygiene routines—to help them build self-reliance.
- Track & Record Progress: Collect and document accurate, real-time behavioral data during sessions to track student growth and inform future programming adjustments.
- Support Academic & Social Growth: Lead structured teaching sessions focused on critical communication, social skills, and positive behavior management techniques.
- Maintain Clinical Documentation: Keep detailed, objective medical and behavioral records in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and academy policies.
- Collaborate with Care Teams: Maintain open, compassionate communication with families, caregivers, and our multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
- Uphold Ethical Standards: Adhere strictly to the professional ethical guidelines outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and Polaris Academy standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience working with children or individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- ABA Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of applied behavior analysis principles and behavior management strategies.
- Data Literacy: Ability to accurately collect, organize, and interpret behavioral data for ongoing student assessment.
- Administrative & HIPAA Competency: Knowledge of medical documentation standards, basic terminology, and HIPAA compliance protocols.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective student interaction, seamless team collaboration, and empathetic family engagement.
- Preferred Settings: Previous experience in school-based settings or home-based behavioral health supporting individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Uncompromising Ethics: A high level of professionalism and a deep commitment to ethical practice in a behavioral health setting.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
