Job Summary
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting guests, managing the check-in and check-out process, answering inquiries, handling reservations, and ensuring guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
- Process reservations, cancellations, and room assignments.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain knowledge of room availability, rates, promotions, and hotel policies.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready for guests.
- Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Follow hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Assist with administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with hotel property management systems is a plus.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use office equipment, including computers, telephones, and printers.
Preferred Skills
- Cash handling experience.
- Knowledge of hotel reservation systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
