Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Alternative Fuels Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing alternative fuel systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation of renewable energy sources such as compressed natural gas (CNG) and other alternative fuel technologies. Your expertise will help us deliver sustainable energy solutions while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on alternative fuel equipment, including natural gas compression systems and fueling stations
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and distributed control systems (DCS) to monitor and control fuel operations
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and mechanical assessments to identify issues with fueling infrastructure and heavy equipment
- Maintain compliance with process safety management (PSM) protocols, safety procedures, and environmental regulations
- Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance activities and assist with pipeline inspections or outdoor work tasks
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, ensuring safety protocols are followed during incidents or system failures
- Utilize hand tools, basic math skills, and engineering troubleshooting techniques to complete repairs efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience with equipment repair, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting in oil & gas or petrochemical environments
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and distributed control systems (DCS)
- Familiarity with natural gas compression technology, pipeline operations, and heavy equipment operation
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM), safety protocol adherence, and emergency response readiness
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, outdoor work in various weather conditions, and operate hand tools safely
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation
- Prior experience in oil & gas maintenance or renewable energy facilities is preferred

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
