This position works in person at the Richardson clinic. The candidate must have previous surgery or procedure scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
Essential Position Functions:
- Meet with patients to discuss scheduling and preparations for upcoming procedure/surgery.
- Work closely with ASC or hospital to schedule procedures and ensure all requirements are met.
- Coordinator with vendors regarding required equipment for procedures and when/where needed.
- Work with finance team on procedure/surgery insurance pre-authorization requirements.
- Schedule consult orders to other specialists for case clearance, DME/bracing products, and referrals to PT.
- Coordinate all outside imaging referrals and schedule patient follow up appointments to discuss imaging results and procedures.
- Complete required procedural paperwork with patients and provide information to explain procedure and instructions for preparation, procedure day, and post-op care.
Educational Requirements & Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous surgery and procedure scheduling experience required.
- Centricity/Athena experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management
- Proficient in communicating in the English language both written and verbally.
- Computer experience and data entry.
- Possess the ability to work productively, either independently or with other individuals.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This is a full-time, in-office position. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 5-10 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure.
