The City of Rupert is accepting applications for police officer. Successful applicants will perform basic patrol duties including responding to calls for service, enforcing criminal and traffic laws of the state of Idaho and the City of Rupert, basic investigation and crime prevention work within the city limits on assigned shifts.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: 21 years of age or older, a high school graduate or GED equivalent. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and in possession of a valid driver’s license.
Applicants must also meet the physical requirements for a law enforcement officer as prescribed by the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training Council.
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
Starting salary depends on experience but is anticipated to range from $22 to $24 hourly. A competitive benefit package with Idaho Public Employee Retirement (PERSI), paid individual and family insurance and local Gym membership for the employee and immediate family members.
The last day to submit an application is on October 1, 2025 by 5:00 PM. A city application with a corresponding law enforcement questionaire packet must be completed in order to be considered.
