Schedule: 3 days per week, 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 12 hours per week, with potential to increase to 15 hours per week
Compensation: $30 to $35 per hour, based on experience
Benefits: 5 paid vacation days, 3 paid sick or personal days, 6 paid holidays, family vehicle available during working hours, mileage reimbursement for approved work related driving if a personal vehicle is used
A warm and relaxed private family in Fairfax, VA is seeking a caring, proactive, and dependable Family Assistant to provide after school and early evening support three days per week. This is a wonderful long term opportunity for someone who enjoys children, takes pride in keeping a home running smoothly, and is comfortable helping with a blend of household support, meal preparation, errands, and light childcare.

This person should enjoy cooking or be willing to follow simple recipes, have a natural ability to connect with children, and be comfortable helping maintain routines, structure, and accountability in a kind and supportive way.
Responsibilities
Prepare simple dinners and meals for the family
Follow recipes and assist with light meal preparation as needed
Put away laundry and help keep household items organized
Straighten and tidy common areas of the home
Stock the refrigerator and assist with household supplies
Load, unload, and manage dishes
Assist with light cleaning and organizing
Run occasional errands, mail packages, or complete household tasks as needed
Provide occasional homework support
Engage with two school aged boys in a warm and positive manner
Help reinforce household rules and routines with kindness and consistency
Communicate clearly with parents regarding the day’s needs, tasks, and any updates
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Family Assistant, Nanny, Household Assistant, or similar role preferred
Genuine love for children and a warm, caring personality
Comfortable cooking and following recipes
Highly organized, proactive, and detail oriented
Able to work independently and manage time well
College degree preferred but not required
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Reliable transportation
