Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Seamstress/Pattern Maker and Sample Seamstress to join our dynamic design and production team. Responsibilities
- Create and develop accurate patterns based on design specifications, utilizing measuring instruments and pattern drafting techniques.
- Construct high-quality samples by sewing garments using industrial sewing machines, serging, and embroidery equipment, adhering to detailed construction guidelines.
- Manually cut fabric materials with precision, ensuring proper handling of various textiles including upholstery fabrics when applicable.
- Operate sewing machines efficiently, maintaining safety standards in production environments while managing multiple machine operations such as sewing, serging, and embroidery.
- Conduct dimensional measurements and quality checks throughout the garment construction process to meet strict quality standards in production.
- Handle materials responsibly within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, handling, and inventory management of fabrics and supplies.
- Collaborate closely with design and production teams to refine patterns, troubleshoot construction issues, and improve manufacturing processes for optimal garment fit and finish.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garment sewing, pattern making, or sample sewing within a manufacturing or fashion environment.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments for accurate pattern drafting and garment fitting adjustments.
- Knowledge of seam construction techniques, fabric materials, upholstery fabrics, and garment construction principles.
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, sewing machines for embroidery, and manual cutting tools for fabric preparation.
- Familiarity with quality standards in production to ensure consistency and durability of finished products.
- Strong understanding of safety standards in production settings to maintain a safe working environment.
- Experience with warehouse operations or materials handling is a plus.
