DEFINITION:
The Basic EMT is responsible for the day to day work of the department. Washing the ambulances, checking equipment to ensure proper working order, filling out reports, keeping the building clean, carrying out work assignments to accommodate the patient case load to include emergency calls, transfers, fire departments calls, and standbys. The Basic EMT also ensures full compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):
- Must possess certification by the NREMT
- Must possess certification by the State of Oklahoma
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Basic Life Support
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic EMT experience preferred
