Performs data entry in specialized program applications: creates, scans, indexes, records, and transmits court case
information, and/or legal documents; audits and reviews data for accuracy; and maintains accurate records and filing
systems.
Prepares and/or responds to court orders, subpoenas, citations, warrants, accusations, sentencing packets, appeals,
and other relevant documents regarding the court system: files court records in accordance with court procedures;
and processes disposed cases for archiving.
Processes fines, fees and other payments: receives, records, receipts and tallies fines, fess, and other payments
according to established procedures and applicable state laws and statutes; reconciles daily transactions; and
balances money received.
Assists with related court activities: prepares and/or maintains court calendar, including hearings and probation
proceedings; notifies all parties of schedule, changes, etc.; attends court proceedings; operates audio equipment;
and transfers case files and information to other courts as appropriate.
Assists with jury administration: assists with juror selection and orientation; assists with mailing summons and
processing information received from potential jurors; assists jurors on trial days; and prepares juror checks.
Performs a variety of general office tasks including, filing, typing, processing incoming and outgoing mail, etc.
Processes a variety of other documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated
timeframes and per established procedures: prepares, completes, receives, reviews, processes, forwards or retains,
as appropriate, various forms, reports, correspondence, criminal histories, bond forfeitures, civil and criminal reports
and papers, firearms reports, death certificates, birth certificates, marriage licenses, judgments, and other
documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains
computerized and/or hardcopy records.
Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet,
database, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to
complete essential functions.
Communicates with court officials, supervisor, other County employees, attorneys, litigants, the public, outside
agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information,
or resolve problems.
Additional Functions:
Assists the supervisory clerk with making bank deposits, balancing court bank accounts, preparing monthly revenue
reports to county and state agencies, and dispersing monthly revenue in conformance with Georgia law.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by three years of experience in processing legal documents and
supporting court functions; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides
the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
