The mission of the Public Inquiry and Response (PIAR) Unit, which is part of CDSS Public Affairs and Outreach Programs, is to serve California's most needy and vulnerable children and adults by providing program information and problem resolution services, primarily to applicants/recipients of public assistance programs, in a knowledgeable, caring and respectful way that also preserves their dignity.
