Position Summary:
Responsibility of handling all the activities related to the receiving, storage and shipping of products to OEM customers. The individual in this position should have operation-oriented person, a problem solver, and able to adapt to frequent changes in production schedules. Training new employees and being able to coach as well as giving direct orders to ensure daily production goals are met.
- Facility supervisor is also responsible for maintaining safety standards (personnel / equipment / building), production + shipping and receiving daily customer requirements and respective paperwork.
- Collaborate with the Material Planner/GM to enforce daily production/shipment goals to OEM customers, have daily meetings with employees to plan the production schedule and output.
- Direct and daily communication with the Material Planner in coordinating the production orders.
- Oversee a team of 5 people.
- Controls the inventory levels, cycle counting and supports the purchasing activities to ensure the warehouse activities have supplies to be operational.
- Control and keep the GM informed of warehouse maintenance costs, consumables, overall facility expenses.
- Responsible for diagnosing equipment problems, making or scheduling repairs or ordering new equipment as needed.
- Understand and apply the concept of FIFO (First IN – First OUT) for inventory management.
- Understand and apply the concept of Lean Manufacturing (For example: 5S).
- Manage shipping and receiving as per daily planning orders.
- Receives the daily schedule from the planning dept./Material Planner.
- Performs the final quality check on products and collect the quality control sheets when required.
- Responsible for overall maintenance of the facility.
- Support the GM in recruiting, training and onboarding new employees.
- Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste.
- Oversee work schedules, manage time schedules and plan accordingly to ensure coverage.
- Perform routine safety checks and PM on equipment.
- Control inventory levels and review the results of the periodical cycle counts.
- Support the back-office related activities (purchasing, customers’ orders intake, planning and invoicing when needed).
- Control and keep the GM informed of warehouse maintenance costs, consumables, overall facility expenses.
- Shipping and Receiving responsibilities:
- Receive the daily schedule from planning/Material Planner and inform shipping and receiving personnel.
- Manage stock of OEM returnable racks to ensure availability to ship.
- Ensure timely pick up and preparation of orders to ship.
- Supervise the preparation of products to ship racking /banding/packaging.
- Manage all the shipping activities and return paperwork’s to the main office.
- Responsible for scheduling trucks for customer shipments (when required).
- Provide shipment information to planning/Material Planner for entering ASNs into the system as orders ships.
Other duties:
- Ensure the warehouse stays clean and organized.
- Responsible for training all production and warehouse personnel.
- Perform interviews for new hires and performance evaluation for current employees.
- Maintain both company and temporary employees’ attendance records.
- Perform periodical communications with HR dept as needed.
- Responsible for production/warehouse consumables needs and purchases.
- Submits invoicing related to production/warehouse for approval.
- Organizes pallets / returnable ordering.
- Plans and coordinates work / work schedules.
- Train and motivate staff.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance.
- Ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment in the workplace.
- Ensure that accurate attendance/vacation records and scheduling are maintained.
- Assist Management with the scheduling of the maintenance of the various equipment.
- Counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary and as per ITR Group HR guidelines.
- Conduct monthly safety topics meetings.
- Report safety concerns / accidents (Near miss / Accident log books) .
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- High school degree required.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- 5 years experience as a supervisor in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
- Must be proficient with standard operational computer programs (example: excel spreadsheets)
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and the ability to understand and meet deadlines.
Ability to identify and eliminate potential problem areas to meet daily shipment requirements.
