Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner / Buyer to support purchasing, production scheduling, and material planning activities within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, production scheduling, inventory management, and data analysis, along with advanced Excel skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the movement of raw materials, components, packaging materials, supplies, and finished goods through the production and inventory process.
- Analyze production requirements and material needs based on engineering specifications and manufacturing schedules.
- Execute purchasing and procurement activities to ensure material availability while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with stakeholders to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, warehouse, and supplier teams to ensure timely procurement and material flow.
- Analyze supplier pricing, lead times, and performance metrics to support sourcing decisions.
- Maintain accurate planning and purchasing data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Support demand planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Generate reports and perform data analysis using Excel to identify trends and support business decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, production scheduling, materials planning, or supply chain operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and supplier management processes.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Background in demand planning and supply chain analytics.
- Continuous improvement or process optimization experience.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid schedule with onsite presence required four days per week in Plymouth, MN.
