Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated direct service workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for clients, including those with developmental disabilities and physical disabilities. We have openings all over Lafayette and surrounding areas
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed to ensure the health and well-being of clients.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Assist clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or community care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving with a focus on enhancing client independence and dignity.
- Basic knowledge of vital signs monitoring is beneficial but can be learned on the job.
