Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
- Assist with meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized workspace by adhering to cleaning schedules and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow
- Contribute to menu planning by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs based on daily operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and food safety management practices
- Demonstrated knife skills with slicing techniques suitable for various ingredients
- Experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately and consistently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
- Knowledge of dietary aide procedures or dietary department experience is a plus
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
