Pet Care Specialist – Part-Time/On-Call (Cremation & Memorial Services)
Job Description:
Resting Rainbow of Metro Detroit provides compassionate pet cremation and memorial services to grieving families across the Metro Detroit area. We’re looking for a caring, reliable individual to join our team in a part-time or on-call role, with potential to grow into a full-time position.
What You’ll Do:
- Create clay paw prints, ink paw prints, and other keepsake memorial items for families
- Pick up deceased pets from client homes and partner veterinary clinics
- Check in customers and handle facility operations during evening and weekend on-call shifts
- Provide warm, respectful, and professional support to grieving pet owners during a difficult time
What We’re Looking For:
- A compassionate, detail-oriented person comfortable working around deceased animals
- Must live within 10 miles of our Auburn Hills facility (for timely on-call response)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (for pet pickups)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive situations with empathy
- Availability for evenings and weekends; flexibility is a plus
- Comfortable lifting pets of varying sizes
Schedule: Part-time/on-call, evening and weekend hours
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
