Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager - Bakery to lead and oversee all aspects of our bakery operations. This energetic leader will drive sales, ensure exceptional customer service, manage daily store functions, and foster a motivated team environment. As the face of the bakery, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency while inspiring your team to deliver outstanding results.
Duties
- Lead the overall management of bakery operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service excellence
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to ensure a high-performing retail sales team with strong product knowledge
- Oversee daily shift management, including cashiering, POS system operation, and cash handling procedures
- Manage purchasing, pricing strategies, and merchandising to maximize profitability and meet sales targets
- Maintain inventory accuracy through effective stock management, ordering, and stock rotation practices
- Implement employee orientation programs and ongoing training to promote professional growth and operational consistency
- Monitor store performance metrics such as retail math, budgeting, and sales management to identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, sanitation standards, and store policies at all times
- Foster a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service and resolving customer concerns promptly
- Utilize organizational skills to coordinate promotional activities, manage payroll processes, and oversee bookkeeping tasks
Experience
- Proven managerial experience in retail store management or bakery operations with supervisory responsibilities
- Demonstrated success in managing retail sales teams within a fast-paced environment
- Strong background in inventory management, purchasing, pricing strategies, and operational oversight
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail setting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively across multiple shifts
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing techniques, employee orientation, training & development practices
- Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques including merchandising and promotional planning
- Basic math skills for cash reconciliation, budgeting, and inventory calculations
- Ability to manage time efficiently while overseeing multiple responsibilities in a busy bakery environment
