In this role, you will utilize your welding expertise and fabrication skills to produce precision components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components.
- Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances for sheet metal and other metal materials.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and fabricate metal parts.
- Fabricate sheet metal components through bending, cutting, welding, and assembly while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the fabrication shop while following safety procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and complete projects efficiently within production schedules.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction site environments or fabrication shops is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and interpret technical specifications.
- Skilled in measuring with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes, shop math, ASME standards, and safety protocols.
- Experience with plasma cutting, machining, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
- Familiarity with crane operation and power tools enhances efficiency on the production floor.
- Ability to work with various metal materials such as steel, aluminum, and other alloys while maintaining quality standards.
