Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Accurately documenting patient data in electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring safety and engagement through tailored activities.
- Maintain infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely patient service.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Point Click Care to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely to prevent injury during patient transfers.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing compassionate companionship and appropriate interventions.
- Assist in post-acute care or sub-acute settings by supporting recovery processes and ensuring continuity of care across different healthcare environments.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program is required.
- Demonstrated experience working in nursing homes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and infection control practices essential for delivering high-quality patient care.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) procedures confidently and adhere to HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like urgent care or hospital medicine.
