Job Overview
We are seeking an efficient, detail-oriented, and independent cleaner in the Davenport/ Bettendorf and Muscatine area. Candidates must reliably follow a cleaning checklist across various property types and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. You should be comfortable interacting with clients to ensure a positive experience. This role includes cleaning both residential and commercial spaces. Attention to customer-specific needs and delivering consistent, high-quality service is essential.
Note: This is an independent contractor (1099) position. You will be responsible for your own taxes, transportation, and cleaning supplies.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and general tidying.
- Sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and other common areas in line with hygiene standards.
- Clean empty properties thoroughly for move-outs and turnovers.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Maintain a friendly and professional interaction with clients.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with management before, during, and after jobs.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines.
- Maintain and care for cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrate proper personal hygiene and present a clean, professional appearance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
Requirements
- Prior cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Reliable personal transportation. Most job locations are within 30 miles of Iowa City/Cedar Rapids — candidates must be willing to commute within this area.
- Must provide your own basic cleaning supplies and equipment (e.g., vacuum, mop, disinfectants, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good physical stamina; must maintain a steady, efficient cleaning pace and be able to lift/move items as needed.
- Adaptability to meet the varying cleaning needs of each client/property.
- Must pass a background check (no felonies).
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends (preferred but not required).
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment.
- Respect client privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times when on site.
- Must have a smartphone with reliable access to phone, email, and navigation apps.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
