Key Responsibilities of the Registered Dietitian
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments based on patients' medical conditions, dietary needs, and nutritional goals
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans and dietary recommendations
- Monitor patients' nutritional status and progress throughout treatment
- Provide evidence-based nutrition counselling and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Make appropriate dietary recommendations based on clinical findings and patient requirements
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and make adjustments as required
- Support patients and families with practical guidance to promote healthy nutritional choices
- Follow clinical policies, food safety standards, and professional practice guidelines
Requirements of the Registered Dietitian Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current RD/RDN credential
- Active Kentucky Dietitian license
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Dietitian experience
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and evidence-based dietary interventions
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
