Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, optimizing for time and fuel efficiency while maintaining accuracy in deliveries.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, ensuring safe handling of heavy or bulky items.
- Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, building strong relationships through excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales goals.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles; retail store experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, pricing strategies, and merchandising principles.
- Excellent math skills for handling transactions, measurements, and basic calculations.
- Familiarity with automobile transportation regulations and DOT compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; physically fit to handle demanding tasks.
- Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules efficiently and ensure timely deliveries.
- Prior military experience involving logistics or transportation is advantageous but not required.
