Polar Field Services (PFS) is seeking a highly motivated Deployment Engineer to support the TaaraConnect program, an innovative Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC) network delivering high-speed wireless connectivity around the world.
This is a hands-on engineering position responsible for deploying, integrating, testing, and bringing into service advanced wireless communications systems. As a Deployment Engineer, you will:

Conduct site surveys and assess deployment feasibility, including line-of-sight, structural, power, and network requirements.

Coordinate logistics and transportation of equipment for domestic and international deployments.

Install, configure, align, test, and commission telecommunications equipment.

Perform optical and RF alignment, network integration, and acceptance testing.

Troubleshoot technical issues with local and remote engineering teams.

Train and oversee local contractors during installation and deployment activities.

Develop and improve deployment procedures, documentation, and operational processes.

Support equipment testing and qualification prior to field deployment.

Contribute to reliability, performance, and operational improvement initiatives.

Assist with network monitoring and operational support as needed.

Associate degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Five or more years of telecommunications, networking, or field engineering experience.

Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment.

Experience with RF, wireless, or optical communication systems.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

Valid driver's license and valid U.S. passport.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the year.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Network+, CCNA, or similar networking certifications.

Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.

Experience with manufacturing, process development, or equipment qualification.

CAD experience.

CPR, Wilderness First Aid (WFA), or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.
This role involves active field work and may require:

Working on rooftops, ladders, and elevated locations.

Lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds.

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
