Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that foster early childhood development and learning.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and behavior management.
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
- Engage children in educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth, including toddler care and infant care as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, daily experiences, and any concerns, fostering strong parent-teacher relationships.
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any concerns related to child safety or well-being.
- Maintain current certifications in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and child safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all children.
- Support classroom management strategies that encourage positive behavior and respectful interactions among children.
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive learning experiences tailored to children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education support or experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom experience with early childhood education or teaching young children is advantageous.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with toddler care, infant care, and behavior management strategies enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required; ongoing training is supported for professional growth.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special needs demonstrates adaptability and inclusive teaching skills.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws ensures compliance with legal responsibilities related to child safety.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish Preffered
