Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumbing Fabrication Person to join our dynamic construction and manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing plumbing systems with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will ensure the seamless creation of piping assemblies, and other plumbing components that meet rigorous industry codes and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while honing your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate piping systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, and tube bending equipment to cut, shape, weld, solder, and assemble pipes according to specifications.
- Perform welding operations including MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and pipe welding to join metal components securely.
- Install plumbing systems such as fire sprinkler fittings, HVAC piping, pipeline assemblies, and general plumbing fixtures on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations including ASME codes & standards during fabrication and installation processes.
- Conduct quality checks using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precise pipe dimensions and alignment.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety protocol adherence practices and properly handling power tools to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of pipefitting, pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and assembly processes essential for fabrication tasks.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, calipers, and schematics in construction or manufacturing settings.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during fabrication; familiarity with ASME codes & standards is a plus.
- Construction site experience with an emphasis on plumbing installation, maintenance work, HVAC systems, or sprinkler systems is highly desirable.
