Certified Athletic Trainer
Job type: Full Time
Location: Southfield, MI
At Epic Health, we go beyond treatment—we empower people. As part of our integrated outpatient medical team, the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) plays a vital role in musculoskeletal care, helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and return to activity stronger than before. We're looking for a proactive, skilled ATC ready to make an impact alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary care team—and to help us grow by building stronger community connections.
What You’ll Do:
-
Rehab with intention: implement targeted, evidence-based rehab plans for injury recovery, post-surgical support, and prevention—bridging the gap between physical therapy and daily function.
-
Deliver hands-on care: Use therapeutic modalities, manual therapy, bracing, and taping techniques to reduce pain and improve function.
-
Educate to empower: Guide patients in home programs, conditioning, return-to-play protocols, and injury prevention strategies.
-
Be the connector: Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, care coordinators, and support staff to ensure each patient receives seamless, personalized care.
-
Adapt and innovate: Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document thoroughly in the EHR. Stay agile, stay accountable.
-
Show up in the community: Participate in health fairs, sports physical events, and injury screenings at schools, gyms, or community centers to promote Epic Health’s services and build relationships.
-
Drive awareness: Collaborate with the marketing team on social media content, blog posts, and educational materials related to sports health and injury prevention.
-
Lead wellness events: Organize or support educational workshops, group exercise classes, or recovery sessions that engage the public and showcase clinic expertise.
-
Act as a brand ambassador: Represent Epic Health at local events and outreach opportunities to build visibility and encourage new patient referrals.
-
Contribute beyond the clinic: Support clinic operations, promote active living in the community, and share your expertise in ways that bring new energy—and new patients—to our doors.
What You’ll Bring:
-
Education & Certification: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Athletic Training. BOC certification required.
-
Licensure: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an AT in Michigan.
-
Experience: Prior outpatient, orthopedic, or rehab experience preferred. (We welcome strong new grads too.)
-
Clinical Skills: Confident in therapeutic exercise, evaluation, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
-
Tech-Savvy & Organized: EMR familiarity and precise documentation skills are a must.
-
People-First Mindset: Strong communication skills and a drive to make a difference for every patient you encounter.
-
Marketing Spirit: Willingness to actively participate in patient engagement and clinic growth through events and outreach.
-
Physical Capability: Able to lift 50+ lbs and assist with patient mobility and physical demonstrations.
