Sports & Imports Autos is seeking a motivated, professional, and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our growing team. Responsibilities
- Contact customers regarding past due vehicle payments by phone, text, email, and other approved methods.
- Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Document every customer interaction thoroughly in our dealership management system.
- Follow established collection policies and procedures while complying with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitor payment promises and follow up to ensure commitments are met.
- Work with customers experiencing financial hardship to identify appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate with repossession vendors when necessary.
- Skip trace customers using available resources when contact information changes.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly collection performance goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service while protecting company assets.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of first-party collections experience is required. (Automotive finance, Buy Here Pay Here, credit union, bank, or consumer lending experience strongly preferred.)
Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) collections experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership software quickly.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and goal-oriented.
- Professional phone etiquette.
