HVAC Service Manager
Worcester County, MA| $85K-$90K + Benefits
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy service department supporting residential and light commercial customers throughout the Worcester County area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who combines strong HVAC technical knowledge with the ability to manage people, improve field performance, support customers, and keep daily service operations running smoothly.
The Service Manager will work closely with technicians, dispatch, administrative support staff, and company leadership to ensure service calls are completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily HVAC service operations and support field technicians, dispatch, and service office staff
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HVAC service technicians
- Monitor technician productivity, service quality, and overall field performance
- Conduct field visits, ride-alongs, and quality checks as needed
- Assist with complex technical issues and provide guidance during high-demand periods
- Partner with dispatch to improve scheduling, routing, and technician utilization
- Handle customer concerns and escalations with professionalism and urgency
- Lead regular service meetings and communicate expectations clearly
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper use of PPE, tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen the customer experience
- Support accountability across the service team while maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of HVAC field experience
- 3+ years of supervisory, lead technician, or service management experience
- Experience supporting or managing HVAC technicians in a service-based environment
- MA, CT, or RI Oil Burner, Pipefitter, Plumbing License, or comparable field credentials preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of heating, cooling, and service operations
- Ability to coach technicians, resolve problems, and improve field performance
- Strong communication, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working with field staff, dispatch, office personnel, customers, and leadership
