Personal Supports Provider (Direct Support Professional)

Position Summary
Quality Plus In Home Services LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Personal Supports Providers to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and quality of life. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support in the home and community while promoting dignity, choice, self-determination, and community inclusion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Provide supervision and support to ensure client health, safety, and well-being.
- Assist clients with community integration activities, recreational outings, shopping, appointments, and social events.
- Support clients in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
- Follow and implement client support plans, behavior support plans, and agency policies.
- Observe and document client progress, activities, and any significant events during service delivery.
- Report incidents, concerns, abuse, neglect, exploitation, injuries, or changes in client condition according to agency procedures and Florida APD requirements.
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, support coordinators, and other service providers as appropriate.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation and service notes.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and continuing education sessions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening.
- Ability to successfully complete required APD training requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist clients as necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to accompany clients in community activities and transportation.
Work Environment
Services are provided in clients' homes and throughout the community. Work schedules may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
