Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney specializing in Post Conviction and Appeals to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advocating for clients seeking relief through post-conviction remedies and appellate processes. Your expertise will contribute to shaping legal strategies, preparing compelling cases, and ensuring justice is served. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research on procedural law, statutory regulations, and case law relevant to post-conviction relief and appellate procedures using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Draft detailed legal motions, briefs, petitions, and other court documents with clarity and precision to support clients’ appeals or post-conviction claims.
- Prepare for court depositions, hearings, and trial proceedings by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and coordinating with clients and experts.
- Review case files to identify procedural errors, violations of rights, or new evidence that could support post-conviction or appeal efforts.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, explain legal options, and provide updates on case progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex litigation matters involving general & commercial litigation, personal injury law, employment law cases, or other related areas as needed.
- Maintain meticulous case management records and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements throughout the litigation process.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
- Proven experience in appellate law, post-conviction proceedings, or criminal defense is highly preferred.
- Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent legal writing skills demonstrated through drafting motions, briefs, and pleadings.
- Familiarity with procedural law knowledge including court depositions, trial preparation, and motion practice.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law, employment law cases, and statutory research.
- Exceptional client communication skills combined with a proactive approach to case management.
- Legal administrative experience that supports efficient workflow and case organization.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
