OverviewJoin our highly esteemed dance education team as our Arts Administration Assistant for an established, one-of-a kind dance studio and it's waitlisted program. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to further develop both your administrative and creative skills while collaborating with the best in the industry. Flexible hybrid hours are offered for both at-home and on-site work.
Duties
- Support performance planning, production & execution for performances. Performances range annually from local community performances to large-scale productions on the Capitol Theater stage.
- Support the planning, production and execution for annual community-based events and outreach programs both hosted by The Dance Box or supported by the Dance Box. Events range from ticketed balls, festivals, and workshops.
- Lead inventory purchasing and organization for events and programs like summer camps and performances.
- Prop and set planning & support in producing or coordinating production with various outside trades.
- Assist in organizational tasks such as costume ordering, organization and distribution.
- Head the stocking, purchasing and organization of retail.
- Assist in content creation for social media and marketing platforms.
- Bi-monthly meetings with studio leadership.
Skills
- Excellent overall organizational skills- ability to maintain organized records, to-do lists, and physical organization such as retail and inventories.
- Time-management; ability to create and stick to a schedule and be a self-starter while accomplishing objectives on or before due dates.
- Highly self-motivated, self-accountable; possessing the initiative & organizational ability and focus to manage tasks independently with little supervision.
- Artistic and creative skills for creation of props, set, & scenery encouraged.
- Excellent communication skills- maintaining professional and timely oral and written communications.
- Event planning & execution experience- ability to work efficiently and maintain professionalism & productivity in high-demand situations.
- Design & decoration skills.
- Background as a dancer or other performance artist is highly encouraged.
- Skills in photography or videography are a plus.
- Additional skills like sewing, prop production/design, and marketing is a plus.
- Experience with stage management is a plus.
- Prior experience working with children or in early childhood education settings is a plus.
