Hotshot Driver (Non-CDL)
Base Area: Michigan
Schedule: ~2 weeks on / 2 week off OTR (flexible)
Pay: Profit-share model - ~$2,000/week typical

Jasper Logistics is a small, owner-operated hotshot trucking company run by a hands-on team that values safety, professionalism, and strong work ethic. We operate a ¾-ton pickup with a 40’ flatbed trailer (combined GVWR just under 26,000 lbs - no CDL required) along with a few box trucks. We specialize in time-sensitive freight that must be delivered quickly and securely.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Operate a ¾-ton pickup and 40’ flatbed trailer safely and professionally on long-distance routes
● Haul and deliver time-sensitive freight nationally, often on short notice
● Secure all loads using straps, chains, and binders to ensure safe, damage-free transport
● Maintain DOT and FMCSA compliance, including ELD connection and Hours-of-Service logs
● Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately
● Keep truck, trailer, and tool storage areas clean, organized, and in good operable condition
● Complete all required documentation within required timelines, including BOLs, load entry, and rate confirmations
● Maintain communication with owners/dispatchers throughout shifts
● Carry and use basic roadside tools when needed (impact gun, breaker bar, basic toolkit)
Minimum Qualifications
● Valid driver’s license
● Clean driving record
● Experience towing a trailer (flatbed + pickup preferred)
● Strong understanding of load securement
● Ability to work OTR on a 2wks on / 2wk off schedule
● Basic mechanical knowledge (tires, fuses, lights, fluids)
● Ability to pass drug/alcohol testing
Preferred Qualifications
● Previous hotshot trucking experience
● Prior experience with ELDs and DOT compliance
● Experience with long-haul/OTR driving
● Professional customer service skills
Compensation & Profit-Sharing Model
Drivers are paid based on profit share, at 60% net profit, not per mile or hourly. We believe that when the company succeeds, our team should share in that success. Our profit-sharing program gives employees the opportunity to earn additional income based on the overall performance of the business. ● Profit is calculated weekly as:
Load revenue - operating expenses (fuel, insurance, maintenance, tolls, depreciation)
● Applicants should expect to earn around $2,000 per week, depending on performance and workload.
Pay: $2,004.84 per week
