What You’ll Do
- Provide respiratory care treatments, oxygen therapy, and ventilation support to patients of all ages
- Monitor and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation
- Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and perform EKGs
- Assist with changing artificial airways and perform diagnostic tests
- Educate patients and team members about procedures and treatment plans
- Document all clinical interventions accurately
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain professional certifications and stay updated on technical procedures
What You Need
Required:
- Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Louisiana
- Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- CPR and basic patient care skills
- 2+ years of relevant experience
Preferred:
- ACLS, PALS, NRP (for NICU)
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Windows applications and data entry
