Position: Powder Coater
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary Grade/Level: $20-22/hr with opportunity for advancement
Reports to: Production Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary/Objective
Under the direction of the department lead or the production manager, you will be asked to hang parts on processing carts and proceed to wash, rinse, heat and powder coat various products, primarily various accessory products from our current lines of business. This will require maintaining equipment and following proper safety techniques.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, or any hours directed by management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Successfully complete a pulmonary function test
- Be able to follow directions to determine what color parts get painted
- Examines and feels surface for defects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with established policies and procedures, including utilizing any required Personal Protective Equipment
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Powder Coating experience preferred
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Ability to use your own judgement in determining quality of product
- Ability to make sound decision making in meeting standard requirements
- Ability to learn Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques

- LEAN Manufacturing Training
- HS Diploma
- Forklift Certification
- Powder Coat Experience
- Spray Painting Experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Non-climate Controlled warehouse, which is not regulated by a heating or cooling system
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Work with their hands, often doing repetitious motions
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 8-10 hours per working day
- Reach within hands and arm’s length with full range of motion
- Ability to work on tasks that require great focus and precisions under widely varying conditions
- Substantial repetitive movement/motion of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- May occasionally exert up to 75 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, push, or otherwise move objects
- Bend/stoop, kneel, or squat continuously-for painting or washing using table or floor
- Balance continuously to work around equipment and machines
- Push/pull wheeled carts with weight that may exert up to 400-500 lbs
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach or handle objects and manipulate them
- Grip continuously for tool use and parts handling
- Must see clearly with or without vision correction
- Has unimpeded color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB: Powder paint gun, respiratory mask, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes, protective clothing, pressure washer, air hose, hand tools, and any other tools provided as needed.
OTHER DUTIES
The ability to cross train and flex up and down production line to cover other positions as needed.
