Job Description
The Warwick Community School and Warwick School District is Massachusetts’s newest public school district. Nestled into the scenic woodlands, along the border of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont (map), our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fall of 2023. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus that features a vernal pool and cranberry bog. Mother foxes can be seen raising their cubs right outside the classroom windows. We have many school gardens and plan to build more to support both our curriculum and our lunch program. We are seeking full time/ part time instructional assistant/paraprofessionals to assist the general classroom teacher.
The Role:
The General Education Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional will assist the general classroom teacher in the implementation of the instructional program and shall perform all the tasks, responsibilities, and duties as assigned by the teacher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
- Working with small groups of students and/or individual students to support center work and classroom activities
- Supporting students' social-emotional well being
- Supervising students at recess and lunch
- Assisting the teacher and the students with the instructional program
- Assisting the teacher to assess student performance
- Monitoring student behavior and assisting students to engage in the classroom
- Other duties as an assignment by the classroom teacher and school administration
