Overview
We are seeking a Field Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support industrial and high-tech construction projects in the Mesa/Phoenix area. This position is ideal for someone with experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical, or data center construction who is looking to grow into a Project Engineer or Project Manager role.
The ideal candidate has experience with field operations, QA/QC, project documentation, construction drawings, and coordinating with project teams to keep projects on schedule.
Duties
- Perform field audits to verify work is installed according to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Conduct QA/QC inspections and maintain project quality standards
- Capture photo documentation of project progress and field conditions
- Identify and communicate field issues before they impact project schedules
- Maintain daily reports, project documentation, delivery logs, and field communication
- Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and project execution
- Coordinate subcontractors and assist with daily field activities
- Track RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and project documentation
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates to the project team
- Help ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Follow all company and site safety requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical, cleanroom, or data center construction required
- Experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or QA/QC Inspector preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience performing field inspections and quality control
- Understanding of construction means and methods
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
Software Experience
Experience with the following is required:
- Microsoft Excel
- Procore
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Smartsheet
- Bluebeam or Primavera P6 is a plus.
