Duties
- Operate different types of cranes such as overhead cranes, boom trucks, and hydraulic cranes to lift, move, and position materials accurately on construction sites or within warehouses.
- Follow load handling procedures and rigging methods to secure loads properly before lifting or transporting materials.
- Conduct routine inspections of cranes and lifting equipment to ensure safety equipment is functional and maintenance needs are addressed promptly.
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety protocols during all operations.
- Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences, ensuring efficient workflow while maintaining safety at all times.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other material handling equipment as needed for various project phases.
- Maintain detailed logs of crane operations, inspections, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating cranes such as overhead cranes, boom trucks, or hydraulic lifting equipment in construction or warehouse environments.
- Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, load securing rigging methods, and heavy equipment operation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards and proper implementation of safety protocols.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and related lifting equipment.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures including load securing rigging methods and safe operation practices.
- Experience with construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety equipment usage at all times.
- Familiarity with backhoe operation, excavators, forklifts, and shipping & receiving processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members across multiple tasks.
