We are looking for a dependable Team Player for a closed door LTC pharmacy. The position involves:
Dispensing & Packaging:
- Preparing medications using unit-dose or multi-dose packaging to ensure accuracy and compliance for nursing staff.
- Dispensing medications and providing specialized pharmaceutical care to residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice
Collaboration:
- Working with physicians and facility nurses to manage medications.
Customer Service:
- Answer phone calls and provide information or direct calls to the appropriate staff member.
Prescription Processing:
- Assist in collecting and processing prescription orders.
- Ensure that prescription information is accurate and complete.
- Input prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the pharmacy area clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Dispose of expired or damaged medications according to regulations.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment regularly
You will also undertake other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly.
As a team member you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
- Completion of a pharmacy technician program
- Must possess valid state certification
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to train on and accurately operate pharmacy computer systems.
