We are assembling a specialized accounting team to submit a proposal for a New York nonprofit accounting engagement and are seeking a New York-licensed CPA or small CPA firm with direct experience supporting OASAS-funded organizations and New York State Consolidated Fiscal Reporting (CFR).
This is a potential 1099 subcontracting opportunity contingent upon contract award.
The proposed team will handle engagement management, day-to-day accounting, QuickBooks, grant accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. We are specifically seeking a CPA partner to provide the specialized NYS OASAS/CFR technical expertise.
Scope of Support
- NYS Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) preparation, review, and applicable certification
- OASAS fiscal reporting and compliance
- CFR schedules and supporting documentation
- Program and funding-source cost allocation
- Technical review of government grant accounting
- Year-end and audit-preparation support
- Coordination with the client's independent auditor, as applicable
- Form 990 / CHAR500 support, if applicable
Qualifications
- Active New York CPA license
- Direct hands-on NYS CFR experience
- Experience with OASAS-funded nonprofit organizations
- Strong nonprofit and government-grant accounting knowledge
- Experience with multiple funding streams and cost allocation
- Nonprofit audit and 990/CHAR500 experience preferred
Engagement Structure
1099 subcontractor or small CPA-firm teaming arrangement
Primarily remote. The role is expected to provide specialized technical support, with increased involvement around CFR, audit, and year-end reporting periods.
The broader proposed team will handle recurring accounting operations and client management.
