Location and hours:
This is a full-time or part-time position located at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55411. Clinic hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. (work hours will vary). New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.
About this position type:
This is a full-time or part-time, benefit earning position.
This position is internally classified as a Dental Hygienist.

In this position, you will:-
Perform complete prophylaxis including scaling, root planning, soft tissue curettage, and polishing of fillings.

Perform preliminary examination including securing case history, performing periodontal probing, and recording clinical findings.

Advise patients on proper diet and dental care.

Chart patient treatments.
-
Counsel patient and family on dental care and treatments.
Need to have:-
Associate's degree in a dental hygiene program approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Possession of a valid license as a dental hygienist issued by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.
Nice to have:-
Certification to administer anesthetics and nitrous oxide.

Experience:
-
As a dental hygienist, including applying sealants.
-
Using Electronic Dental Record and Digital Radiography (DXone).

Working within a community-based environment.
-
Knowledge and ability to perform dental techniques and procedures, preliminary examination procedures, instructional techniques, and oral hygiene techniques.

Ability to:

Chart patient treatments and progress.
-
Clean and maintain dental equipment and instruments.

Work effectively in a team environment.
-
Respect and appreciate diverse co-workers and customers.
Candidates with fluency in Spanish, Hmong and Somali in addition to English are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.
