Regular (www.regular.nyc) is an Australian lifestyle cafe serving specialty coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch.
Our background in cafes, specialty coffee and the hospitality industry spans 20+ years. Our journey began in Sydney, Australia, where we owned and operated multiple cafes before venturing to NYC.

We are looking for someone to:
- Be responsible for counter and table service, offering an exceptional and memorable experience to each guest
- Be accountable for adhering to opening and closing checklists, as well as maintaining and cleaning tables, sweeping and mopping at the end of the day.
- Receive training to ensure your skills meet Regular's high service and standards
- Collaborate with team members to handle busy register and keep track of orders, maintaining accurate tabs on tables’ orders using the square point of sale system
- Keep cash drawer balanced throughout shifts
- Act in other roles as in serving and bussing not limited to only bar work
- Assist in bringing orders to tables and other various roles when necessary
- Learn and grow with us and our team
About you
- You are able to start as early as 6:30am
- You have a positive outgoing attitude
- You are a team player
- You are able to communicate clearly
- You are able to work calmly under pressure
- You have a minimum of 2 years server & Service experience
- You are familiar with coffee terminology
- You are able to memorize a menu with all relevant allergen information
- You are able to comfortably converse with guests and create genuine connections
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests promptly upon arrival, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Square POS system, ensuring all details are captured correctly.
- Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Keep guests water topped up.
- Buss tables and organize dirty plates, crockery and utensils for dish washing
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, including tables, utensils, and service stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication regarding orders and special requests.
- Process payments accurately while adhering to food handling safety regulations.
Tips range from $12-$22 p/hour on top of hourly wage.
